Computers on Wheels (COWS)

Maybe this example from Stanford University Hospital backs up the case that trolley based solutions are the only way to go for mobile computing in a ward environment.

According to Robert Scoble :

They have these portable data systems, all hooked in via wifi, all
running Windows XP. They call them “cows.” Each one has a unique name.
A nurse uses them to track patient data. Doctors can dial into the
“cow” from his/her desk.

The post and pictures are here.

Update : Bill Crounse of the Microsoft Health Blog gives some more background, as well as  fresh (microsoft based) variations on the theme.
